Well Thats A Wrap!

Well time goes by, I am sorry to tell you all but my blogging experience is coming to an end. I remember debating on what to write about, and how my bog should be formatted and now I am thinking about how much fun it was getting to know my readers and sharing all my interests and hobbies with them! Truth is, I was required to create a blog for honors english, and as the school year is coming to an end so is my blogging career. Personally, I think that my writing and voice have improved a lot, in the past I couldn't write any type of essay to save my life but with all this blogging I am starting to get the hang of it! By changed, not only has my voice and literal writing grown and improved, but I see the change in myself as a person. Remembering the thoughts dashing through my head when writing some of my old blog posts makes me giggle. Something that may have seamed like a life's crisis when I was writing in October is something I can now laugh about and reminisce on.

One of things I have improved on is my self confidence with writing, when I first started posting I would constantly doubt myself and delete the post then stress about writing another one. Now, I am able to just post and take a deep breath and know everything is going to be okay and you all wouldn't read my blog if it didn't have some sort of impact on you! My style of writhing has evolved, I have better grammar along with spelling and sentence fluency. Many of which I could never achieve before this.

I couldn't have done this blog without my readers, you guys are the real MVP's! It is always so exiting to discover new comments or page views! From my stats I am able to see who has viewed my blog, many of my readers come from different countries! It is quite extraordinary to think that I am making an impact on someone so far from me! So a huge THANK YOU to all my readers that have supported and gotten me through this year, without you I would literally be TOAST.  Again thank you all so much for the support, I am sad to tell you all that this blog has to end but hopefully you all can start one of your own! Good luck to you all XOXO.

Last, before I forget! This blog was for a honors english assignment, so it was a requirement! Every quarter we get a blog grade which often would leave me scrambling to write the final posts and make sure I meet the quota in order to receive a good grade! So far I have achieved an A every quarter... hoping I'll have a similar outcome this quarter! I guess I can't quite say goodbye yet because I know you all will be dying to know my final grade1 (Or not) But I thought I would leave it on a high note and make sure we don't end it on a cliff hanger!  So heres my last official goodbye and thanks you but there will be one last post telling you all my grade! Wish me luck XX

And We Begin The Home Stretch...

So here we are.  Final weeks of school. Up to the moon in Homework. So as a high school student I am required to get good grades to get into good colleges! So that means working my but off to achieve the "perfect" GPA, I mean my average GPA is a 3.7 but some kids are able to hold a 4.0 every quarter... Kudos to them! So before I vanish into a world of homework I thought I would give you a few tips on how to study and pass a test!

1. Depending on what you are studying for... Create a study guide outlining what concepts you have to master and make sure to organize your information !

2.If you have the time and you're confused, ask questions... preferably the teacher who is giving you the final but if you have a friend or parent that knows the material really well I advise asking them many questions so you can be as confident as possible going into the test.

3. If the teacher offers a review session, MAKE SURE TO ATTEND, going back to #2... this would be the perfect time to clarify all your questions. Usually, the teacher will either do an in class review or even a before/after school review!

4. Don't cram in your studying, start early. Learn the material miles before the test so you have time to nail all the key concepts, eventually this will make it much easier to ace the final. DO NOT leave the studying till the night before at 11 pm, I have done it. It doesn't work. At all. So study early, maybe even weeks before!

5. If you have friends that enjoy studying together, organize  a group study session! That way you can have fun with friends, while drilling in the information into each others heads!

6. DO NOT study for a whole day straight, make sure to take breaks and give your poor brain a breather. Otherwise the constant studying will have no effect, breaks are necessary while studying!

7. Split the material into bits, that way you gain a little more knowledge every day. Splitting the material into chucks you can actually achieve can be very beneficial. That way, you can keep track of what you’ve accomplished instead of looking at the big picture and getting overwhelmed.

8. Get a good nights sleep, don't stay up till the crack of dawn studying. Make sure to get a lot of sleep, and limit the late night cramming sessions! A full night's sleep will help you to stay much more focused during the test.

9. Keep an open mind, Some exams will be more difficult than others, some you may find easier to study for. Some may be worth more of your grade than others. Make sure to evaluate all of your exams to consider and determine all of the involved factors so you can study accordingly.

10. It’s easier to focus if you adapt to studying by quizzing yourself, creating acronyms or rewarding yourself for a job well done. Create a game plan – literally – that allows you to accomplish tasks and be rewarded for each.
For example, why not reward yourself with a piece of chocolate or a sip of your coffee after you’ve accomplished a new chapter or allow yourself five minutes of free time for every chunk of material you digest?
You can even add in fun factors like power-ups every time you learn a new definition and lose a life, which means you add another definition to your list, when you get an answer wrong!

Overall, you need to make sure you re staying healthy and don't stress too much over the tests, it won't be the end of you life if you bomb it. But if you follow the steps I just listed, you are guaranteed a better outcome!

Priceless Places

I am obsessed with travel, there are so many places that I hope to visit during my lifetime. Heres some of the most beautiful and extraordinary destinations in the world!

#1 Maldives:
Picture this, a private villa stands over clear, crystal blue water... Ending your days with orange sunsets that make you hungry for local citrus juice. Only the best gourmet room service and a masseuse are on call to avoid any unnecessary trips from your porch and the only thing to make you want to leave is the breathtaking coral reef and underwater creatures that demand a scuba session for a proper introduction.
Could you imagine? A beautiful villa to yourself, watching the sun rise and set while surrounded by ocean water and aquatic life.  This is only one, of many breath taking destinations in the world.

#2: Cinque Terre, Rio Maggiore, Italy

The village, dating from the early thirteenth century, is known for its historic character and its wine, produced by the town's vineyards. Riomaggiore is in the Riviedi Levante region and has shoreline on the mediterraneans golf of Genoa, with a small beach and a wharf framed by tower houses. Riomaggiore's main street is Via Colombo, where numerous restaurants, bars and shops can be found. The Via dell'Amore is a path connecting Riomaggiore to its frazione Manarola, also part of the Cinque Terre.Riomaggiore is the most southern village of the five Cinque Terre, all connected by trails. The water and mountainside have been declared national parks.
I can't imagine a more beautiful town, with all the colors and simple houses it is simply irresistible! Someday I really hope to travel around the world to see all of the most beautiful sights.

#3 Glass Beach, California
Imagine, walking over thousands different shapes, colors, sizes of glass. In the early 20th century, Fort Bragg residents threw their household garbage over cliffs owned by the Union Lumber Company onto what is now Glass Beach, discarding glass, appliances, and even vehicles. Locals referred to it as "The Dumps." Fires were lit to reduce the size of the trash pile. The California State Water Resources Control Board and city leaders closed the area in 1967. Various cleanup programs were undertaken through the years to correct the damage. Over the next several decades the pounding waves cleaned the beach, by breaking down everything but glass and pottery and tumbling those into the small, smooth, colored pieces that cover Glass Beach.
I really hope to visit this beach, mostly because the beach is my sanctuary. I am obsessed with the sound of the waves crashing, the taste of salt water, and mostly the feeling of sand wedging itself between my toes. This beach would be absolutely amazing to visit, not only because of the glass but because it evolved from a dump sight into a tourist attraction!

#4 Glow Worm Cave, New Zealand
Just picture, thousands of twinkling lights surrounding you and making the slightest noises. Boating through a cave of priceless lights and sounds of water dripping is amazing. The glow worm, Arachnocampa luminosa, is unique to New Zealand. Thousands of these tiny creatures radiate their unmistakable luminescent light as our expert guides provide informative commentary on the Caves' historical and geological significance.  Marvel at Mother Nature's light display as you glide silently through the starry wonderland of the Glowworm Grotto. Meander underground along the Waitomo River and gaze in silence at the myriad of glow worm lights that make up the Glowworm Grotto. As you enter this galaxy of tiny living lights, you'll immediately experience a serene ambience and be fascinated and intrigued by tiny glowworms that light your way.
Fortunalty, I have had the honor of visiting these amazing caves, my mother is from New Zealand so we go back every year and  once we went on a surpass drive down to the glow worm caves. The caves were absolutely mesmerizing, the entire time I was so busy focusing on the magical lights, so I couldn't quite take any photos.

#5 Venice Italy:

This is both a cause and a consequence of depopulation: many small business, mom and pop stores, like handicraft stores, bakeries, small businesses, etc., are little by little closing down, swept away by big unpersonal chains established just for the huge tourism stream, or by stores filled with junk souvenirs or fake Venetian masks..
It is a catch 22, because due to high prices, most tourists prefer to sleep in Mestre, and even bring with them their box lunch when visiting Venice during daytime. It is undestandable, but that way Venice often ends up to get more drawbacks than benefits from tourism.

Venice, is a town that is currently drowning in its water, Venice is so unique and exiting! Hopefully, I can travel there when I'm a little older!

There are many places in the world that I wish to visit, these are very few of the many I think are interesting and where I want to travel too!

Beautiful Brains

In biology we were required to read Beautiful Brains , otherwise known as an article on the teens brain. I enjoyed it so much I thought that I would share with you all the highlights of the article!

When people hear the word "teenager", they usually tend to think of someone that has reached the age of 13 or higher and is now sassy, reckless, and irresponsible. the truth is that their brains going through a very complicated process, that has some side effects... "For starters, the brain's axons—the long nerve fibers that neurons use to send signals to other neurons—become gradually more insulated with a fatty substance called myelin (the brain's white matter), eventually boosting the axons' transmission speed up to a hundred times. Meanwhile, dendrites, the branchlike extensions that neurons use to receive signals from nearby axons, grow twiggier, and the most heavily used synapses—the little chemical junctures across which axons and dendrites pass notes—grow richer and stronger. At the same time, synapses that see little use begin to wither. This synaptic pruning, as it is called, causes the brain's cortex—the outer layer of gray matter where we do much of our conscious and complicated thinking—to become thinner but more efficient."

I know, a lot of really complicated words that are somehow supposed to convince us that we understand the process. Basically, they are saying that the brain is extremely busy during the ages of 12-25, the brain is maturing and becoming faster. In the mean time, the teens become very distracted, and learn to shut things out. For example a scientist decided to conduct an experiment, "Beatriz Luna, a University of Pittsburgh professor of psychiatry who uses neuroimaging to study the teen brain, used a simple test that illustrates this learning curve. Luna scanned the brains of children, teens, and twenty somethings while they performed an antisaccade task, a sort of eyes-only video game where you have to stop yourself from looking at a suddenly appearing light. You view a screen on which the red crosshairs at the center occasionally disappear just as a light flickers elsewhere on the screen. Your instructions are to not look at the light and instead to look in the opposite direction. A sensor detects any eye movement. It's a tough assignment, since flickering lights naturally draw our attention. To succeed, you must override both a normal impulse to attend to new information and curiosity about something forbidden. Brain geeks call this response inhibition."  As a result, the younger kids bombed the test, they just could keep their eyes off of the light. However, teens do much better. In fact, by age 15 they can score as well as adults if they have the motivation, they were resisting temptation about 70 to 80 percent of the time. What Luna found most interesting was not those scores but it was the brain scans she took while people took the test. When compared with adults, teens tended to make less use of brain regions that monitor performance, spot errors, plan, and stay focused. However these areas are the ones adults seemed to bring online automatically. "This let the adults use a variety of brain resources and better resist temptation, while the teens used those areas less often and more readily gave in to the impulse to look at the flickering light—just as they're more likely to look away from the road to read a text message."

I found this to be very interesting because majority of parents think it is just because their children have reached a reckless and hormone filled stage in their life, but actually their kids are developing their brains at a very fast rate. Teenagers have a reputation for getting into trouble, but we are just clueless and unaware of our surroundings. I was able to relate directly to the article, for instance I am always procrastinating and very distracted by my iPhone. My parents are always complaining because they miss the "old me" or the younger version... But I am 15, so approximately 10 years away till my brain has completely developed... I was able to share this article with them, my parents also found this very interesting and said that it explained much of my behavioral issues. Overall, I think it was very important for people to read, many who are confused by their reckless teens.

Whats your Zodiac sign? Part #2

Here we go again, for those of you that had to wait...sorry! Now you can find out about your Zodiac sign... FINALLY! Busy busy schedule, barely had time to write this! Enjoy :)

Libra(September 22-October 22)

Description: As I like to say, these are the people that like to wander off into lala land... they are great companions and will create endless laughs. Libras are often the shy ones then once you get to know them... the class clowns and make your day better. Although these people tend to hang on to their childhood dreams and usually end up very successful. "Every adolescent Libran's fantasy is to find the Prince or Princess of their dreams. As their lives unfold, the experiences, false starts, dramas, broken hearts and disillusionment they encounter seeking this personal Holy Grail, often shapes their futures in the most extra-ordinary manner. Love and love-lost makes a big difference to the Libran although their often happy-go-lucky appearance against all kinds of odds may not reveal this as fact. "

Scorpio(October 23- November 21)

Description: "Reputed to be the "most powerful" sign of the zodiac, Scorpios lead fate filled lives and have intense and dramatic personal relationships. Even as children Scorpios are often found to be wise beyond their years. Many astrologers call this the sign of the "oldest souls". Old and wise beyond the average, Scorpios often know all the answers, except sometimes; they too often have difficulty finding what they need to develop their own happiness. " Passion, desire, love, and power go hand in hand for these guys. They are generally wise, intelligent and easy to get along with, these people are defiantly the social butterflies. "Their biggest challenge and test in life is choosing between the power of love and the love of power. Coming to grips with their extraordinary emotional depths and sensitivity isn't easy for those around them. They are different from all other zodiac signs and this difference has them walking, working and loving to a different beat. Others can often live with a Scorpio partner for years, but not really know them. Much to do with a Scorpio remains ever secret. Their eyes often blaze with feelings that words never express, and beware on the days or nights they hide their feelings behind dark glasses, there is likely to be a storm of some kind brewing.

Sagittarius(November 22- December 21)

Description: Sagittarius is the free spirited zodiac sign, often these people are free willed and reckless. Often these people are looked at as annoying by others, they are always on the move and usually active looking for adventure! "Ruled by the benefic planet Jupiter, Sagittarians possess a natural exuberance, sense of adventure and love of life that makes them one of the most optimistic zodiac signs of all. Like their astrological symbol - the Archer - Sagittarians are renowned for aiming their sights towards whatever it is they find alluring - a love partner, dream job, vacation - and making it their own. They believe that anything is possible - and because of this belief system, Sagittarians are adept at seeking out their very own pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. "

Capricorn(November 22- January 19)

Description: These people are the ones who are gunning for the top are are continually fighting for success. When side track even in the slightest bit, they will push through mainly because their inner motivation."The first is represented by the mountain goat, always climbing higher and higher; never content until reaching the top. The second is the garden goat, with little adventurous spirit or ambition-happy to remain within a small domain, refusing to budge unless it is pushed. Either type of Capricorn, however, is patient and persevering. They reach their goals because they know the longest journey commences with a single step and that the first step is always the most difficult."

Aquarius(January 20 - February 18)

Description: These are the zodiacs most unusual people, they are highly focused but at the same time very creative and maintain a freewill. Aquarius are often very smart and later in life are very successful with what they choose to do, most engineers belong to the Aquarius zodiac. "Aquarians are the zodiac's most mysterious and unusual people - and no two are anything alike. Those born under this sign - ruled by innovative and non-conformist Uranus - march to the beat of their own drum. They see life in a different way. Others quite frequently think their habits and ideas are eccentric or crazy in some way, but it is this uniqueness that makes them so special. The Aquarian mind is extremely quick and they never seem to stop thinking. Aquarians usually have strong political, environmental or social beliefs. But whether it is a relationship, career or cause - Aquarians are happiest when they have "something" to believe in and nurture."

Pisces(February 19 - March 20):

Description: This zodiac sign is said to be very powerful and the most talented sign but at the same time are always facing challenges leaving them to decide. Often times these people are very bad decision makers, the zodiac sign is representing two fish heading two different ways. These types of people are generally very successful despite their lack of decision making but many are millionaires and very high up in the economy. "The number 2, is a very powerful number for them. This zodiac sign is acknowledged as being the Saint and the Sinner rolled into one; the trendsetter of fashion or art, the lost soul, the philosopher and the psychotic and the visionary. As a credit to them, considering their many vulnerable characteristics; Pisceans are incredibly adaptable and resilient. They are to be found leading the field in many diverse areas of life and many Pisces can be found represented amongst top business millionaires. On the other side of the coin, prisons, reform schools and all kinds of institutions statistically hold a high number of Pisceans too."

Hope you were able to learn about your Zodiac sign! Thanks for reading :)

What is your Zodiac sign? Part #1

Lately I have been reading a little bit on Zodiac signs and I find them to be very interesting... sometimes even crazy accurate. So I thought that I would do even more research so that you guys could easily find out your very own zodiac sign! So here you go:)

Aries (March 21- April 19)

Description: The Aries sign represents a big horned sheep, it can also be described with fire. On some occasions the people born into Aries are adventurous, active, out going, and feisty. Aries are generally always active, never run out of energy and usually very naive. "although they are independent, outgoing and assertive they are also surprisingly trusting, often innocently walking into the lion's den at times. No matter what upheaval, challenge or triumph they confront - an Aries has a wonderful ability to bounce back. Their faith in life and the future remains untouched by hardship." One of the many things Aries bring to the world is wonderful visions and may creative thoughts that later in life become very useful either in jobs or just simply for fun. Many of the famous athletes have been born into this zodiac sign, not all of them but many. This means they have a inner competitiveness and enjoy running around. Unfortunately, when it comes to their love life... they are not easy to keep, nor impress only the best of the best guys even get a shot with them. Overall the Aries people are generally interesting and defiantly the most fun people at parties!

(April 20- May 20)

Description:Underneath their cool, calm and calm moods,  Taureans are greatly from all the other signs of the zodiac. Taureans manage to discreetly separate themselves away from the crowd, even though they have a well-earned reputation for being very social. They usually don't let others get to close, and generally only invite themselves to get closer if you hint towards it first. Some claim that trying to get your point across to a them is almost impossible because 99% of the time they would enjoy themselves more if you didn't talked to them, others say it is rather similar to talking to a concrete wall, they simply won't budge nor answer.  Their feelings, fears and desires often run far deeper than anyone around them would guess. Like the butterfly that chooses to remain hidden in its cocoon until it is ready and prepared to emerge, so the true Taurean spirit remains hidden behind a veneer of day-to-day activities. That's why Taureans are sometimes regarded as snobby, withdrawn, boring, or even sulky. This is probably your average kid at school who sits alone, prefers to read a book quietly rather than going to a shopping mall with friends.

Gemini(May 21 - June 20)

Description: Most of the time, this zodiac sign represents twins, the original star was called Zeus's messenger. Generally these people are often very intelligent and enjoy writing. In Astrology, Geminis have also gained the reputation of being the incessant talkers of the zodiac, which in simple terms means that they barely get half a breath in between sentences. This people usually can talk for hours straight  never loosing energy, some other zodiac signs get annoyed with this people often. "These Twins that don't have the 'gift of the gab' are usually talented writers or have a special interest in foreign languages." In love, they look for a partner who can keep up with them mentally and physically! And, to quote Oscar Wilde, "there's one thing worse than people talking about you, that's people not talking about you." Whether Geminis enjoy it or not, people are usually are "talking about them". Along beside Scorpio and Virgos, they usually are a sign that is often discussed, dissected and sometimes even put down by the other signs of the zodiac signs. Sometimes this can be a form of jealousy by others, because Geminis do lead very unique and unusual lives filled with amazing memories along with not so great experiences.  The Gemini personality can appear mysterious or detached to others and therefore they are often misunderstood and unappreciated for the talents they offer to the world at large. Concluding, these people tend to be very interesting and fun to hang with depending on who the people are...

Cancer(June 21 - July 22)

Description: Here, we have the moodiest zodiac of them all...although they can be very sweet and compassionate they also have a very nasty side that would easily turn around and stab you in the back. "Those born under the sign of Cancer, ruled by the mysterious Moon, are one of the zodiac's enigmas. It is fair to say that most Cancers are a bundle of contradictions. Compassionate and caring with friends, family and lovers, yet they can cut to the bone with their jealous remarks and ever-changing moods. Endearingly eccentric on one hand, and on the other, insecure about how others see them. Like their astrological symbol - the Crab - Cancers can appear hard and insensitive on the outside. However, for those of us who know and love a "Moon Child", we understand that deep below lies a softness and sensitivity that makes them so very special..." Another thing about the cancers, are they are the zodiac sign most attracted to love, these guys take over seriously and when let down will possibly go into depression. Nobody get more upset with love then this silly gooses.

Leo(July 23 - August 22)

Description: This Zodiac sign is filled with love and compassion, no matter how hard the storm hits or how bad their day is they figure out though to make the best of it with a positive attitude. Much like lions, Leo's are very caring and committed when it comes to relationships. Once you have earned their trust they will be loyal and faithful until the day they die to you, but if you dare break their heart they will never forget nor forgive you for what you said or did. For Leo's when a relationship is over, its over, and if it is because of them they will always have a very good reason for doing what they did for good. "There are three levels of soul-evolution of the Leos. The highest is represented by the Sphinx; wise beyond their years and great teachers to others. The second is the Lion, King of the Jungle, ruled by ego but always protective and sustaining of those they love. The last is the Lion Cub, immature and undeveloped, frightened by anything new. These Leos cling to others, and can't bear to ever be alone."

Virgo(August 23- September 22)

Description: Virgos are usually described as fussy, stubborn minded, dismissive, sassy, but when it comes to revealing their inner light no zodiac sign can quite match theirs. When a Virgo is very confident about themselves they are very confident and no one can compete with them, they are usually the best at what they do! Even though they are strong-minded, they are very successful many become doctors, professors, welfare work... this is mainly because they like to help others out with their difficulties. Secretly they are somewhat sensitive and only show this side of them with the people they are most comfortable with. "One of the most magical characteristics of the Virgo is no matter how many times life or romance turns sour on them, they still manage to maintain faith in others, refusing to become cynical. There is ingenuity around this sign, a kind-heartedness, which unfortunately is sometimes played upon by others for their advantage. Virgos can often become victims of relationship power-games, where they are mistreated. "

Find out more soon... Part 2 is on its way :)

All we do is win....

*kicks ball*

Oh hey I didn't see you there...I was too busy "kicking" out the haters! (thats a puny one)

Video: Youtube

Soccer. My life. I play it from blazing sun,  pouring rain to blizzards. No, there is never a perfect time nor temperature to play soccer.   No matter what, you will sweat, you will get extremely tired, and you WILL get pushed around. In girls soccer there are no boundaries, whether you full on tackle the girl to flat tiring them on a corner kick. The excitement and desire to win never disappears it only grows stronger until the last thirty seconds we bring our A game. Wether we have no subs or a whole bench full of people, we play, we play our game, we win. Well minus the win part... that only happens on a REALLY REALLY REALLY good day. I wouldn't call our team undefeated or high ranked...more or less it could be looked at as a way of improving, becoming the team we want to be. Soccer has always been apart of my life, whether it meant fooling around with a soccer ball at age 3 to charging down a field  age 15,  keeping my eyes on the only prize...a WIN. Soccer games are usually fun... until we have to get up at 6 on a saturday to drive an hour, loose, freeze our asses off, then drive back with nothing but regret filling our stomachs.

There's a saying that goes "Park City girls are buff"... I wouldn't call our team buff nor skilled. We wing it every game, maybe if we are lucky bring home a win, just to slap a smile on the parents faces. Soccer games are a big thing to the parents, they are the ones who get extremely into it and cheer us on no matter what the score is, once we were being beaten 11-0 and they still kept cheering and telling us we could get it back. Did we? Nope. Why? because we have lost all confidence in our skills due to a very nasty coach who brought each team members confidence down significantly. As much as we all wish to walk off the field with a smile on our faces, that doesn't always happen, we are skilled as individuals, but can't always seem to figure out the whole teamwork component. I mean thats the most important part... a soccer team has 11 people on the field not just one. As said before, there is no i visible in team, but there is a chance we decide to work  together for a few minutes and end up scoring a goal or even better, winning the game!

The basic shape on the field is a 1-4-4-2, this means the goalie of course, the four defender, mid fielders, and the two strikers. When the first whistle is blown the team that has the ball gets kick off, this means that they will start the game by passing it to another team member. Next we desperately scramble round the field in order to score a goal or better yet pull a hat trick...now wouldn't that be just dandy. Next the opponents will foul, do anything they can to get the ball and score, while we like to sit around clicking our heels while watch the defenders be the only thing between the goal and their goal. Eventually, they might slip a couple shots in but our goal keeper ali seems to rolling around in mud. To conclude, soccer is a very simple game once you get the absolute hang of it. This sport is easy to learn and hard to forget.   Soccer is a great sport and I encourage my readers to try it out even if it means having to learn new drills, experience new coaches and become part of a new team  it is a great way to stay fit and have fun with friends.  Concluding, Soccer is easy and fun, even if you aren't the best you will still be a part of a team and support each other in games, win or lose!

Tick Tock...Tick Tock....*Alarm Sounds*

5:45 am:
*picks up, unlocks phone, hits snooze button.*
*curls back up into warm bed*

6:00 am:
*drag my heavy body to the edge of the bed, checks social media & texts*
*warm kitty joins me in bed, purring and cute, exit from bed is delayed
* finally struggles out from under the covers, slides on robe and slippers, walks like a zombie all the way down the hall and down a whole staircase*

6:15 am:
*sits down for breakfast, eats. Struggles to get back upstairs*

6:20 am:
*slowly picks out an outfit that is easy to slip on and somewhat stylish... just kidding not at all. Trudges into bathroom*
*washes face, brush teeth, applies makeup and does hair, etc.*

6:30 am:
*slowly gains enough energy to make a bed and organize my room a little, packs bag and checks for all homework*

6:40 am:
*Walks downstairs... packs bag for sports.... does all the last minute shizzz.*

6:50 am:
*Drags bags to the car, driven to school while sleeping the whole way there*

7:10 am:
*sighs. another long, long, long, long, boring school day. shuts car door, drags heels all the way to the front doors.*

So there is an extremely shortened version of how my mornings usually go down before school, as you can see I am usually the walking dead. In the morning, I don't engage in conversation or do last minute homework until about halfway through first period. If you haven't figured it out yet, I am not a morning person in any shape or form. In fact, the early mornings are my version of hell. If I go to bed early (9:30) then I'm still exhausted and if I go to bed late (the normal) then I am also tired. So indeed there is absolutely no happy medium, I am usually upset, stressed, half dead, or half sleeping around this time.

Daylight savings really is unnecessary and considering the fact it is too cold to farm in Utah, wouldn't it be easier if we just go without daylight savings. When you wake up that first morning of school and  daylight savings  has arrived (spring forward .... not a happy day for me) most people are about ready to protest and  return to bed, curl up in a small ball and  refuse to go this early.  Daylight savings was originally created so the famers could do work on their farm  and care for their animals during the daylight hours,  but now days this is not as relevant to our society.

"Teens, diehard “night owls” and those with sleep disorders all struggle with waking up early and losing that extra hour of sleep. But sleep expert Kai-Florian Storch, a researcher with the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and McGill University, says there are a few things we can do to get better sleep, even with one less hour of it." Even though most people are on their own internal clock, this still has its ways of effecting the teens...

Why did I want to grow up?

When I watch my younger sisters run around smiling, laughing, being totally carefree. I wonder why the hell did I wish to grow up, to be honest being older sucks. I don't know about others but my parents aren't any less strict, I have homework 24/7, and not to mention countless drama within my social life. If anything I wish I was a little girl who could care less about how she looks, run around in little dresses and tutus screaming songs. Making dumb jokes and talking about how boys are gross and they have cuties. I would give anything to be 6 years old and only having to color and learn how to write my name and my age then eating snacks out on the playground or playing tag all recess. I remember never having any drama, and only crying when I was pushed down, but its easy to wipe away some dirt but not so easy to shake off a bad grade. At age six grades didn't even exist, songs, story books, rhymes, and fun was the only thing I knew.  If running around shirtless was still socially acceptable, then I'd be the first. Back when I was young every photo was a good photo, if I looked like sh*t then we laughed and if I looked great then I would smile and say thank you. Now every photo of me seems to be awful and sends this unnecessary chill down my spine. Meanwhile I'm wondering who's going to see this... or better yet what if someone makes fun of the photo. If everyone could age but still have the self confidence of a six year old the world would be a much better place, more girls with nicer hearts, more acceptance worldwide.

I look at my little sisters who will go to school without a worry, their hair is neatly tied back by my mother then they each get into their chosen outfit. No second guesses on how good they look, just put on all the necessities and get to school. No boys to comment on how fine they are looking or girls to turn around and gossip about how you wore that same outfit last week. They just happily skip off to school together laughing and smiling, as for me I spend at least 30 minutes debating on wether to change the outfit or keep it as is. Or the worst is when you wake up with a zit that makes you self conscious and to the point where you feel like everyone is just staring right at your zit thinking to themselves how ugly it is. Little girls can walk out the door smiling and thinking about how many new friends they can make that day. My younger sister always comes home telling us how great her day was and how nice her teacher was. Then when it comes to me I am barely able to keep my eyes open, and eventually I manage to complain about the amount of tests or a huge project coming up. If only I had never wished to grow up and date guys, because it only creates more drama and more work. If only having a best friend still existed, my younger sister has playdates, and they play barbies and makeup silly handshakes while laughing and smiling never regretting one moment. I used to think at that age I was too controlled but turns out as a freshman there is more control over me than ever between being onetime to sports and submitting quality work to the teachers.

The little girl I babysit always is smiling until she realizes that she has to take a nap then she looses it, but she's always happy and wears the cutest outfits. When babysitting for her she marches around like a queen and throws out little sassy commands just for a little giggle. This. This is what I miss, being small, cute, funny, and an absolute delight to be around. She makes me smile on a bad day and doesn't even intend to. From her curly hair tied up in a little bow to there tiny toes she is 100% adorable and melts your heart.  Just knowing that one day she to will have bad days filled with homework and mean friends break my heart. How can something so petite and sweet turn into someone who gets called names or made to sit at another lunch table because there isn't enough room. Thats awful, and where it all begins. A little angel that is smiling almost all the time can turn into an angel who is frowning all the time. In my opinion life starts out so happy and full of life but as you slowly move along you loose the constant sparkle in the corner of your eye or you loose the silly laugh because someone thinks you sound dumb. If we could all stay 2 1/2 for ever there would never be a murder or calling another baby fat, but tons of giggling and smiles that create a happy earth.

If wearing cute little coordinated outfits were still in style, then I would be all over it. Remember dressing up for valentines day,  easter, halloween, ect. and everyone would having little skirts or dresses on. Those were the good old days when you could wear whatever you wanted and still rocked it.

Do You See What Eye See

Eyes, "the window to our soul." I'm guessing that eyes must be pretty interesting considering the fact they have all these fancy quotes. When I look at a person, automatically my attention will be directed to their eyes. (Not just because it is the polite thing to do when speaking to another) People who have beautiful, intriguing eyes are usually in my opinion more physically attractive, eyes really do define a person to some extent. If someone has bad vision they will most likely be squinting, as someone who is sad might have a watery eyes, if you're tired your eyes might be bloodshot, if you're in love they might be focused on on person, ect. Someone's eyes are usually the first impression, whether you catch someones eye in public or lock eyes with an opponent, automatically you would be able to have an opinion about that person.

Eyes caked in makeup vs. all natural eyes?
It really depends on your opinion, but from my point of view an eye that is left alone to present its own beauty sparkles more then the 1 pound of glitter on another eye. Makeup is a way to hide your flaws which were given to you for a reason, nobody is perfect and by caking yourself with makeup you are correctly the flaws that make each individual special in their own way. If everyone was flawless then there would be hardly a variety of people, a flaw may be seen as a negative from ones perspective but to others it defines you as a person. When someone decides to wear no makeup they shouldn't be judged, they have the courage to display their flaws while others choose to hide them. Eyes that are left alone are pure beauty, eyes that are caked in makeup are beautiful too, just in a different way.

Eyes can come in all different types of colors, shapes ect. Brown eyes are a dominant trait, blue and green eyes are a recessive trait. This can be defined as the brown overrules blue in a genetic showdown. In other words, every offspring has two alleles, one from each parent. So lets say that we use an A to represent our eye color, if one were to have two big A's (AA), it means the they have brown eyes because brown is the dominant trait, and if someone were to have two little a's (aa), it would mean they had blue/green eyes, this is because blue/green eyes are recessive. If someone were to have a big A and a little a (Aa), it would mean they would have brown eyes, because the big A is dominate to the little a, meaning brown takes over the blue/green due to the fact brown is the dominant trait. Lets say that your dad was "AA", and your mom was "aa", you would positively have brown eyes because your dad has two big A's. Now if your dad were to have "Aa", and your mom still had "aa", you could have a chance of receiving blue/green eyes. If both of your parents had "aa", you would definitely have blue or green eyes. It is possible that two brown eyed parents can have blue or green eyed kids, because if both parents have "Aa", it means they both have brown eyes because of the big A, but if their kids receive the little a from both sides they would have blue or green eyes. It is possible for two brown eyed parents to have blue or green eyed children, but it is impossible for two blue or green eyed parents to have a brown eyed kids. Eyes are very complicated, even with the newest technology we have, eyes are somewhat mysterious. So if the whole science lesson didn't confuse you enough why don't you go check out this article because I'm sure what they are saying makes a lot more sense then what I had blabbered on about for what seemed like ages.

Since we are talking about eyes, how about we discuss why some people see black/blue and others see white/gold. Depending on the lighting, people may perceive different colors from the same dress. Our eyes are able to assign fixed colors to objects under widely different lighting conditions. This ability is called color constancy. But the photograph doesn’t give many clues about the ambient light in the room. Is the background bright and the dress in shadow? Or is the whole room bright and all the colors are washed out? Different people may pick up on different visual cues in the image, which can change how they interpret and name the colors. Articles have proven the dress to be blue/black but depending on the amount of dark lighting/ light people may interoperate the dresses' colors differently. Why did this cause such a big uproar? People were frustrated with not being ale to see the same color as someone else or the fact that everyone freaked out over the actual color. Who knew one crappy photo might turn into many science articles and people talking for ages on what the true color of the dress is.
